This story dates WAY back to when “Ellen” came out of the closet on her sitcom. Everyone else in the bar was watching it on TV and lovin’ every minute.... but not Butchy. As you can see, she has a BIG crush on k.d. Lang.... and is completely oblivious to the gals trying to see her home safely--except as an audience for her rants. (Don’t worry, she DOES have her ‘softer side’ too--especially with her kitties!) Yep, she’s got a “chest” on her--that’s what going without a bra will do to you, just like Mom said.
The two “drag queens” literally haul her out of the gutter, dust her off (on preceding page) and hand her a free ticket to their show--and in the next panel Butchy’s griping (as usual) and tossing the ticket away. At least she does chill for a few moments when a Goddess directs her attention to a comfy park bench. But that doesn’t last long. Once the “hetero” couple start laughing (following page) Butchy assumes they’re laughing at her. (Actually, they’re talking about something silly the guy’s DOG did.)
Political history from “Butchy’s” point of view. (This is circa 1970 or so.) Notice Bitchy Bitch makes a cameo appearance. There is a lot of interesting history in this lengthy story, if you can read between Butchy’s rather “negative” lines.
